HDPE Pipe for Trunk Mains & Long-Distance Transfer
For municipal trunk mains and long-distance transfer we recommend PE100 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) water pipe. Common pressure classes are PN10 (SDR17) and PN16 (SDR11): DN200–DN630 for urban distribution mains and DN630–DN1200 for large transfer schemes. Medium-pressure transfer can use SDR 17 HDPE pipe, while medium-to-high-pressure mains use SDR 11 HDPE pipe and PN12.5 HDPE pipe; the base resin grade is shown on PE100 HDPE pipe. HDPE is joined by butt-fusion or electrofusion for homogeneous, fully restrained, leak-free joints and a service life of more than 50 years.
uPVC Pipe for Service Connections & Building Supply
For residential service connections, building supply and cost-sensitive cold-water lines, uPVC water pipe is an economical, easy-to-install option — in sizes from 1 inch PVC pipe and 2-1/2 inch PVC pipe to 8 inch PVC pipe and 12 inch PVC pipe — solvent-cement jointed for fast installation. Both HDPE and PVC are corrosion- and scale-free, maintaining flow capacity and water quality over the long term.
